Customer Review: It’s fine
This aerator works just fine. It’s a little tall, so I couldn’t cover it up with gravel, which I would have preferred. Because of this, I think I like the airstones better.
However, this one was good for me because it came with everything I needed. When you buy the airstones, you normally have to buy a few things separately to make it work (the tubing, the airpump). I wouldn’t have known what to buy if I had done that.
This one would probably work better with smaller tanks. I would recommend up to ten gallons.  Read more...

The original pump was not the same size as this pump, so I needed to make an adapter to allow this pump to fit a larger diameter tubing, and I needed more tubing ($.25/ft at the hardware store) but it all worked out.

I use this pu,p in a desk fountain and it works well but if it runs without water going through it then the impeller shaft breaks and you have to get a new one, which costs about the same as a new pump (so I just bought a new pump). This is not what you might expect. I expected to get aquarium sounds, bubbles, water pump, etc. This has the funkiest sound that sounds nothing like an aquarium. I don’t recommend buying this dvd, you will end up throwing it away like I did.
